He is President of the General Assembly of the Macau European Chamber of Commerce, and Vice Chairman and founder of BBAM – the British Business Association of Macao.

JOSÉ BRAZ-GOMES

jose-braz-gomesJosé Braz-Gomes in 1982 started his overseas assignment in BNU Macau. In 2010 he was appointed General Manager of the Offshore Subsidiary of Caixa Geral de Depósitos. He is also VicePresident of Macao Military Club. He was a member of the Chief Executive Election Committee.

paul-tsePaul Tse is the Executive Director of Golden Crown Development Limited. He is also President of The Macao Association of Building Contractors and Developers, and Honorary President of The Asian Association of Management Organizations. Chairman of The American Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director of The Macao Chamber of Commerce, and member of several Macau SAR Government councils.

PAULA LING HSIAO YUN

paula-lingPaula Ling, has been a lawyer in private practice in Macau since 1993 and a notary public since 1997; she was a member of the Preparatory Committee for the Macau Special Administrative Region and of the Selection Committee of the Chief Executive of the Macau S.A.R.; member of the Macau Lawyers Association’s committee, she also has been the chairman of the Macau Lawyers Superior Council; member of the People’s Congress of China; member of the Committee for the Basic Law of the Macao S.A.R. under the Standing Committee of the same Congress and a member of the Election Committee of the Chief Executive of the Macao S.A.R.

RUTGER VERSCHUREN

rutger-verschurenRutger Verschuren, a Dutch national, is since 2010 Chief Operating Officer – Hospitality Division of Shun Tak Holdings Ltd (Macau) with assignments, among others, to support Artyzen Hospitality Group, the hotel management subsidiary of Shun Tak Holdings Ltd, with management of their properties in Macau. He was previously Managing Director of Sheraton Macao Hotel and Vice President Operations of Dusit International. He is currently Chairman of the French Macau Business Association and Vice President of the General Assembly of MECC.

terry-sioTerry Sio, a Macau-born entrepreneur, is the president and founder of Rainbow Group. Over the past 30 years, Terry has nurtured Rainbow Group from a single store in Macau to one of the leading European luxury brand retail networks in China and Macau, with over 150 points of sale in more than 20 cities in China.

He is currently Vice-President of Directors Board of Macao Chamber of Commerce, and Executive Board member of ICC (International Chamber of Commerce). He is also the Vice-Chairman of The Macau Association of Banks and a council member of the Macau Management Association. Joined HSBC in 1986, he held various management positions including a number of overseas assignments over the past 29 years.

anabela-ritchieAnabela Ritchie is a member of the University Council of the University of Macau, a member of the Executive Committee of University of Macau Development Foundation and also a member of the Board of Trustees of Macau Foundation. She was a member of the Legislative Assembly for 6 mandates (1976-2001), having been the President from 1992-1999. She was also a member of the Council of Judicial Magistrates from 2003-2015.

JACKY SO YUK-CHOW

jacky-so-yuk-chowJacky So Yuk-Chow is the dean and Chair Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Macau. He is also Co-Director of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Economics and Management and Executive Director of the Academy of Entrepreneurial Finance, and board member of the Global Finance Journal, Journal of International Business, and several organizations. In 2014, he was visiting scholar in the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Asia and Pacific Department and received the Education Leadership Award at the award ceremony of the Asia’s Best B-School Awards 2014 held in Singapore. Prof. So is the first from Macao to receive this award.

JOÃO FRANCISCO PINTO

joao-francisco-pintoJoão Francisco Pinto is the chairperson of the Portuguese and English Press Association of Macau, an organization set to uphold the basic principles of freedom of the press and freedom of speech in Macau. His career spans more than 20 years, during which time he has worked as a newspaper, radio and TV journalist. Currently João Francisco Pinto is the News Controller at TDM, Macau’s public broadcaster. Recently, he was elected as the chairman for ABU (Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union) News Group for a three-year term.

JOÃO RODRIGUES MONTEIRO

joao-rodrigues-monteiroJoão Rodrigues Monteiro got a degree in Finance. He was former head of Internal Audit of Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM). Has extensive experience in the fields of finance and accounting, since 1973. Is also a registered auditor in CRAC of Macau Tax Bureau. Currently is administrator of GEP-Project Managers Ltd.

LARRY SO

larry-so-man-yumLarry So retired from Macao Polytechnic Institute (IPM) last year but took up part time teaching after retirement. He taught social work in IPM and worked in this field in Hong Kong, Canada and USA. He is concerned about Macau’s social and economic development and its impact on the local community. He has thus advocated policy addressing the issues such as betterment of social welfare, poverty and pathological gambling, from the Government.

MANUELA ANTONIO

manuela-antonioManuela António’s experience was centered at the Ministry of Finance of Portugal, prior to being appointed Chief of the Taxation and Excise Services in Macau. Resuming a passion that dates back to 1975, in 1986 she left to open her private practice as a lawyer and private notary.

mary-hoMary Ho moved to Macau in 1983 and has been a Director of McMac Co. Ltd. (McDonald’s Macau) since its formation in 1985. She also served on the Executive Committee of the International Ladies Club of Macau (ILCM) from 1987-1990. She is a long time supporter of Ronald McDonald House and Half the Sky organizations.

pawin-sriusvagoolPawin is the GM and Head of Zung Fu Motors (Macau), the exclusive retailer of Mercedes-Benz cars in Hong Kong and Macau. Pawin is in charge of the overall operations of Mercedes-Benz in Macau. In addition, Pawin also serves as the coordinator for Jardine Matheson businesses in Macau.

pedro-cortesPedro Cortés has a Law degree at the Portuguese Catholic University and a Post Graduation in International Management. He has been a lawyer since 2003 and is a member of the Macau Lawyers Association, of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors and of the International Association of Gaming Advisers. He is also a Part-time lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

entre_jose_winnerManaging Director, Carmen Group of Companies. José Tang Kuan Meng is native born to Macau. Mr. Tang completed his Bachelor of Arts’ degree in the United States, with Physics major. Later, during his working career, he completed his Master’s degree in Business Administration and Diploma in Chinese Laws, in Macau. Besides being a Macau certified auditor, Mr. Tang is the managing director of the Carmen Group of Companies. José Tang was recognised by the Macau S.A.R. Government with the Medal of Honour for Industrial and Commercial Achievements in 2011. Mr. Tang also serves the local community as Vice President of the Macau Industrial Association, the Macau Import and Export Association, and the Macau Management Association. In addition, he is the Executive Director of the Macau World Trade Centre S.A.R.L., Director of the Macau Chamber of Commerce, and also on the Supervisory Board of Directors for Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute, among other functions.

entre_wongManaging Director, Wong Chi Kei Foods Company Limited. Wong Kam Chun, also known as Wong Tin, was born in 1954 at Dongguan city, in Guangdong province. He worked as a reporter in his early age, and later he went to Japan to continue his studies, and graduated from Hosei University in Tokyo. In 1996, Mr. Wong took over his family business in Macau, and started to run the Wong Chi Kei Noodles and Congee shop. In 2000, Mr. Wong decided to open a new branch at Largo do Senado, and two years later, he opened two more branches in Hong Kong. Within twenty years, from a traditional noodles and congee shop, Wong Chi Kei has grown into a large-scale food corporation. Its brand is popular and well known by local residents and tourists. Moreover, the company successively won distinctive awards in Macau and in Hong Kong. In 2008, Mr. Wong received the “Order of Merit in Traveling” from the Macau S.A.R. Government.

To comply with its head office requirements, Beverly Plaza has implemented essential energy conservation procedures for the hotel’s daily operations by conducting extensive renovations and replacing inefficient equipment. The investment has helped the hotel save up to 50% of its annual electricity consumption. In 2014, Hotel Beverly Plaza, among others, received the Gold Award in the annual Green Hotel Awards organised by the Macau Environmental Protection Bureau.

MOME MEDIA AND MARKETING

The services they offer include design and manufacturing of hardware and electronic solutions that support different kinds of industries such as gaming, entertainment, retail, transportation and industrial. SUZOHAPP also provides customer services such as technical onsite support, equipment installation and reparation. This year, the company and Macau Institute Polytechnic (IPM) jointly set up a live educational laboratory at the institution’s Gaming Teaching and Research Centre for local students to acquire skills to maintain Macau’s electronic equipment on a self-sufficient basis, enabling locals to access learning about products and projects.

MACAU TICKETING NETWORK

CONSULATE-GENERAL OF PORTUGAL IN MACAU AND HONG KONG

inn_consuldadoThe Consulate General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong is responsible for supporting about 165.000 citizens with Portuguese passport in both Special Administrative Regions of Macau and Hong Kong. The organisation affirms that their strategic line is to implement new ideas and new processes to better serve their citizens. The communication platform that is currently used in the Consulate General is a digital system, interconnected, that allows a more extensive interaction and communication with the citizens, keeping the highest level of coherence, updating and relevance. It involves Social Networks, Institutional website and The Online Booking System (OBS). It is a software that allows citizens’ registration, schedule and management of the online services. The OBS allows scheduling the renovation of the Citizen Card and passport but in the future it may be used for other services and new app for mobile gadgets. The OBS allows performing two processes: to register in the Consulate General for later admission and to schedule bookings. The system has helped the organisation to address from 95 requests per day, to 130, now.

CENTRAL TECHNOLOGY LIMITED

inn_centralCentral Technology was established in 2011, they own an online city guide platform with 100,000 visitors monthly that provides travel, business and community information to the public. Their platform covers more than 10,000 businesses and 18 major industries in Macau, including: tourism, catering, shopping, beauty, wedding, education, medical, automotive, home, parenting, pets, cultural and creative, exhibitions and business. With online Internet technologies and offline resources, they offer a one-stop marketing service for SMEs to promote their products and services to tourists and residents. Mr. Lawrence Ho was appointed as the Executive Director of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited on December 20, 2004, and has served as its Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since December 2004. As a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Ho also serves on numerous boards and committees of privately held companies in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. In 2014, Mr. Ho was selected by FinanceAsia magazine as one of the “Best CEOs in Hong Kong” for the fifth time, and was honored as one of the recipients of the Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards for three consecutive years. leader_sequeiraVice Director, Macau Ricci Institute. Fr. Luís Sequeira S.J. has been the Superior of Macau Jesuit community for many years. He is the Principal of Ricci High School, and the Vice Director of Macau Ricci Institute. Father Sequeira has been intensively involved in spiritual direction and in guiding spiritual exercises for many years, locally and around the world, especially among the Sisters Missionaries of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Father Sequeira is a Cultural Merit medal recipient of the Macao SAR.

GOOD SHEPERD SISTERS

In 1990 they founded in Macau the Good Shepherd Centre, a crisis shelter for women and girls in difficult, marginalized or distressing situations. The majority of the women who come to the Centre, often accompanied by their young children, are victims of domestic violence. More than 90% of the cases are local residents and Chinese from the mainland, but the Center also extends their help to other nationalities. In 1998 Good Shepherd Sisters Women’s Mutual Help Centre was founded for single parent mothers. In addition to the shelter and community service, the Good Shepherd Sisters are involved in education projects relating to women’s issues and committed to raise awareness for problems such as domestic violence and human trafficking, among others.

Wendy did her first degree in psychology at the University of Toronto and a second degree in physiotherapy at the University of Western Ontario. She is also credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment and holds a Certificate of Medical Acupuncture. Wendy gained over ten years of experience in Toronto working in private clinics as a physiotherapist. In 2010, she moved back to Macau with her family, and in 2012 she opened PhysioOne Centre. Besides maintaining an active practice at PhysioOne Centre, Wendy has been Vice President of the Macau Physical Therapists Association (MPTA) since 2011. She also acts as the Director of International Affairs Department for MPTA. Wendy is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association and Macau Physical Therapists Association.

young_maggieDirector and Executive Chef, Maquette / Creative Director, La Magie. Cuisine seduced Maggie Chiang into its world from a very young age. The Macao-born-and-raised chef finally decided to embrace the cookery career after years of studying Strategic Management and working in the marketing, advertising and public relations fields. After spending some time in Italy and France, learning about their cuisines, Maggie came back to Macau to open her restaurant Maquette in Taipa, in 2013. Maquette combines food and art, based on inspiration found in everyday things during her time studying in Europe, the restaurant’s menu is strongly influenced by Italian and French cuisines, with Maggie’s signature twist. In 2014, Maggie returned to the world of cakes and pastry by opening another business in Macau, La Magie. Maggie also has a cooking school “Mag Kitchen”, where in two years, more than 1,000 students have attended her baking classes.

KEITH FONG

young_keithAuthorized SCAE (Specialty Coffee Association of Europe) Trainer / Founder of Blooom Coffee House, Single Origin, and Communal Table. Keith Fong was born and raised in Macau. He is passionate about promoting and changing the ways people think about coffee. Mr. Fong studied in Macau and went on a six-month exchange to Finland before specializing in coffee. He got his certification from the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe, which is based in the United Kingdom, where he travels regularly to update the knowledge and skills in coffee. Mr. Fong founded the Blooom Coffee House in 2010, an importer of coffee beans. It began four years ago when this kind of business did not exist in Macau. In 2012, the company began to expand and created a flagship Single Origin coffee house. Last year, the third space, Communal Table, was opened with light meals and high quality coffee, which attracted different segment of customers.
